Course Overview
Advanced Modules are available for organisations supporting children and young people with extreme, aggressive, dangerous and/or complex challenging behaviour, who may pose a risk to themselves or others in high-risk Education.
This group course is tailored to the needs of your organisation, we will discuss the specific needs of your environment and service users, and devise a curriculum to meet them, focusing on the modules that will best meet your requirements.

Important Course Information
- This is a bespoke course, delivered in-house on your site. Participants must have a current Level 2 certificate to attend this course.
- Advanced modules can cover: Advanced Ground Holds, Ground Fights and Assaults, Transport and Everyday Objects Used as Weapons.
Learning Outcomes
- Increase understanding and awareness of behaviour as communication and develop a framework to better respond to reduce risk
- Utilise a toolkit of holistic strategies on de-escalation and crisis intervention, both verbal and non-verbal for supporting disruptive and distressed behaviours
- To build confidence and competence to apply a range of physical restraint and handling strategies, with the knowledge to help choose the appropriate and safest response every time
- The ability to understand the rationale and principles of the Team Teach approach, and will understand the use of physical restraint as part of a holistic approach to managing behaviour.
- The importance of risk reduction and de-escalation, both verbal and non-verbal, and will be equipped with positive handling expertise to maintain a safe response in a wide range of high-risk environments.
